Quite a few people have asked, why Jump In Line, so I thought I’d drop a post here.
Before you read on, can I ask that you hit play and listen as you read?
Naming anything is a painful business. I tried everything to come up with the perfect name. I pulled out every book I own scanning for words that I liked. I encouraged friends in pubs to play the name game, it was actually pretty fun, for the first ten minutes.
I spoke to work buddies and family, I even looked at my persian heritage for some original inspiration. On arriving at the Farci word for Spring / new beginning I knew I was in trouble.
Then it happened.
I was shifting around on my chair at work to one of a handful of my favourite ‘get stuff done’ tracks, Jump In The Line by Harry Belafonte. This song also happens to be from one of my all time favourite films, Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice. I remembered the end scene when the track plays and they dance and shake, it’s all about good winning out, it’s the happy ending with a cracking feel good tune. So I used it as my inspiration.
Nope, my name isn’t a comment on the PR industry or connectivity or community or any other nonsense.
What it is, is a bloody good tune, that should make you want to get up and have a good shake shake shake, señora.
If it does say anything about this business, it’s the energy and enthusiasm in all that we do, how about that?
